Galway defender Ollie Canning is set to call time on his 13-year inter-county hurling career.
Canning, 34, made what was almost certainly his last appearance for the county in Sunday's defeat to Tipperary in a gripping All-Ireland SHC quarter-final. "In all probability, that was my last game with Galway. I had said that at the start of the year. I doubt if I will be back," he said.
The Portumna ace began his Galway career as a half-forward, before making the switch to corner-back in 2001 when the Tribesmen lost the All-Ireland final to Tipperary. He won three All-Stars in the position in 2001, '03 and '05.
