Trap's future in doubt ahead of Faroes clash

15.10.12

The Irish squad flew out to the Faroes last night ahead of tomorrow's must-win World Cup qualifier.

Preparations for the game are far from ideal with reports of an extraordinary board meeting of the FAI planned for later in the week to discuss Giovanni Trapattoni's future after Friday's humiliating 6-1 defeat to Germany.

A win tomorrow night may not be enough to save his job.

There was reportedly a row after training yesterday between Stephen Kelly and Marco Tardelli and it got so heated it was thought Kelly might not have travelled with the squad.

Skipper Robbie Keane was passed fit to travel and is likely to start but Andy Keogh is out after suffering a concussion during yesterdays training session.
