A man in his 20s has been killed in a road accident in Co Monaghan.

The 22-year-old man was the front-seat passenger ina car involved in a two-car collision in Colnoony, Drumully, Clones, just before 4am this morning.

The 21-year-old driver, also a man, was not injured.

The driver of the other car, a 28-year-old man, is being treated in hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Gardaí at Clones are appealing to witnesses to the collision to come forward.
