Petrol set to hit all-time high

Irish motorists are being warned that the price of motor fuel is expected to hit an all-time high next week.

The cost of a litre of petrol will increase on average to €1.70, while diesel is set to rise to €1.60 per litre according to AA Ireland.

The declining value of the euro against the dollar, increases in taxes and an increase in the overall demand for oil are being blamed for the hike.
