Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a crash in Co. Offaly which killed three young brothers and their friend.

The two vehicle collision between a car and a minibus occurred at around 5:30pm yesterday evening, on the R420, Tullamore to Geashill road.

The four victims, three of whom are brothers, are all believed to be in their 20s and living in Portarlington in Co. Laois.

Three passengers in the minibus were taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore - but their injuries are described as not life threatening.
