A passenger airplane was forced to make an emergency landing at Dublin airport last night - leading to disruption for bank holiday passengers.
An American Airlines flight was travelling from London Heathrow to Boston when a technical problem was discovered.
The Boeing 757 jet returned to Dublin, where an emergency landing was carried out shortly after 10pm.
The emergency landing blocked the runway forcing authorities to close the airport for an entire hour.
All passengers and crew on board are safe but several flights were diverted - to Belfast, Shannon and Manchester airports as a result of the incident.
