Worker hospitalised after shop attack

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a raid on a shop where he was working in Dublin yesterday evening.
Gardai arrested a man in his thirties at the scene.
A lone male raider entered the shop at about 9.50 pm and threatened two male staff members with a syringe.
A struggle took place and Gardaí were alerted.
The suspected offender was arrested at the scene and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984; he has been taken to James Hospital, where he is being treated for a leg injury.
One of the staff members, a man in his thirties collapsed at the scene and was also taken to St James' Hospital where he is in a serious condition.
