'Emmerdale's Mark Charnock believes his character Marlon Dingle has finally found true love.
The 43-year-old actor thinks ditzy Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) is the chef's soul-mate because they are both so eccentric.
Mark told The Sun newspaper: ''I think they're really well matched. They're both quite quirky, romantic in an off-kilter war. They're both quite funny.
''I just think it's a meeting of minds really. They both really get each other and are people who a lot of the other villagers don't get.''
Lanky chef Marlon will find love with scatterbrain Laurel on the ITV1 soap after he confesses he wants to follow Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) to New Zealand so he can be close to his son Leo.
Viewers saw the pair fall in love last year, but romance fizzled out when Laurel decided to give husband Ashley another chance.
Mark has revealed it won't be smooth sailing this time either since Marlon will have to choose between his son and his new relationship.
He explained: ''Marlon decides to stay with Laurel and says, 'I'll just make it work.' Which is a lie. ''His son's everything to him and there's eventually going to be a moment when he says, 'Actually, why am I being made to choose?'''
