Fourteen-man Dublin booked their place in the Leinster SFC final with Meath with a narrow victory against a plucky Wexford side, in a tight semi-final in Croke Park.
Diarmuid Connolly was sent off for Pat Gilroy's men for an off the ball incident early in the second half, but a goal from Supervalu Man of the Match Kevin McMenamon helped the Dubs secure a 2-11 to 1-10 victory.
Wexford led by one point at the break in a keenly contested opening half, and they might have caused an upset had the Jason Ryan's side's second-half shooting been as up to the high standard they set in the opening 35 minutes.
McManamon admitted that the champions ‘got out of jail' and they'll have questions to answer ahead of the Leinster SFC clash against bitter rivals Meath, after the Royals managed an upset of their own with a 1-17 to 1-11 win against Kildare.
