Foster leads at the Irish Open

28.06.12

Mark Foster is the earlier leader at the Irish Open in Portrush.

The Englishman birdied six of his first 10 holes to hit the front early on. A late slip by Pádraig Harrington saw him miss out on a share of the lead.

The Dubliner three putted the ninth green on his way to carding a five under-par round. Ashbourne’s Mark O’Sullivan is one shot off the lead after he shot an impressive 68 which saw him shoot five birdies offset by only one bogey.

Northern Irish due Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke are currently out on course at the moment.

The weather in Portrush hasn’t been favourable for the late starters, heavy winds and rain have been making playing conditions difficult.
