Adams rules out Presidential bid

Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams has ruled out a bid for the Irish Presidency this morning.

Speaking at Sinn Féin's Ard Comhairle meeting in Dublin today, he categorically denied putting his name forward for the Presidential race.

Sinn Féin has yet to propose a candidate themselves with speculation mounting that Mr Adams may have put himself forward.

However, Adams denied this and has stated that Sinn Féin will decide in the next month whether they will put forward a candidate, or support an independent candidate for the Presidential election in October.
