Gardai are to carry out door to door enquiries today as part of a murder investigation in Co Galway.
It follows the death of an elderly farmer on Wednesday. A post mortem examination showed Finbar Fahy was beaten to death in his home, possibly during a break-in.
The body of 78-year-old Finbar Fahy was found at his home near the village of Ardrahan on Wednesday morning. The retired farmer lived alone.
A murder investigation was launched after a post mortem carried out at Galway University Hospital revealed he'd died of head injuries.
Gardaí have conducted a forensic examination of Mr. Fahy's house, and have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area.
