It started with a gruelling exercise regime when he was a teenager, but quickly became more serious and sinister for John Stack, when drastic dieting took hold. What followed, was a 10 year struggle with the life threatening condition anorexia nervosa.
But John is one of thousands of Irish men who has struggled with what is perhaps the ultimate taboo - a man with an eating disorder.
Joining us this morning to talk about this increasing problem is John, Mar-ee Soskova-Campion, psychologist from the Marino Therapy Centre and GP Tarek Zourob.
