Edel Curtis - 30s

Hi Everyone,

This week I have had a very sick baby so it goes without saying all my energy has gone into getting her better, so I have had very little time for myself.

I just about managed my 30mins a day with my SlenderTone Abs Belt and my Skin Care Regime with my beautiful Lancôme products.

I was also thinking of Nikki Burns, (the nutritionist from Mandala Spa) and I managed to put some of her tips in relaxing into practice, I lit some lavender incense in my bathroom and the smell came into the bedrooms and helped us all relax.

Last night I just had no more energy left.

I eventually got Ciara up to her bed and I got into bed about nine!

I got stuck into a book Laura has sent me and it's a fascinating read about a woman called Diane Lazarus, who has a 6th sense and from a very early age was able to see people or spirits.

At first they scared the living daylights out of her but soon she learned that they were friendly and only had her best interest at heart.

We are all back on Ireland AM on Friday the 10th of April and then we are off to meet a man called Joseph McGuire from Joyful Healing who does Face Readings.

I'm really looking forward to this, then I'm heading off the following week for a break to the Lake District in the UK, looking forward to this as well!

See you soon,

Bye for now

Louise Doran - 40s

Hello again this is Louise for the 40's!

I hope everyone had a great week?

I got great news today in Curves in James St! Linda has wrapped up the 10-week weight loss challenge, I had started there in week 3, and for every pound you lost you got a star on the board, well I won I have lost the most weight!

I lost three pounds this week which makes fifteen pounds in total! I never expected to do so well, and if I can do this anyone can, you have just got to believe that you can and you will.

This Life Makeover with Ireland AM & Glow magazine has taught me to believe in myself again, to know that I can do anything that I put my mind to, with Laura's help and all the experts I have been guided in the right direction and the seeds of wisdom have been planted in me to nurture and grow.

Linda says there's a little present for winning, but I've already got the best present and it's my new figure!

The SlenderTone Abs belt and the new Mini are going strong, I use them on alternate nights mostly in the evenings, the belt has really made a difference to my tummy area and I hope to have a nice pert bum again with the Mini, I'll keep you all posted on all fronts.

I love doing my skin care routine, the lovely Uspa range.Everytime I open the creams to use the smells are glorious alone, I feel like I'm creating my own spa!

I have been known to light a few candles, to massage my skin with beautiful creams of satin and silk and GIOW in the aftermath of something magical happening.

My bedside read last weekend was a fantastic book Laura had sent us to read called "Mixed Blessings" by Diane Lazarus, the book told the story of a frightened child with an exceptional gift.

It was Diane's story of her life, from having a Father who never wanted her to be born, seeing her Mother been beaten on a regular basis by him and all the while she could see dead spirits of people who had died. She knows when something is going to happen before it does, because she grew up with this great gift and later went on to help the police search for missing people. What a woman!

Laura hopes to get Diane over to meet us five women and give us a reading, how cool would that be? I recieved great news today, Rachel Murphy from Eneclann, a genealogy company, is helping me trace my family tree, we have arranged to meet on Monday. She is excited to have me on board and I can't wait to get started!Myself and my youngest son Glenn went to the Irish Life Centre to look up records.

In particular, we we searching for both sets of grandparents marraige certs, when we found them we were both thrilled with the sense of achievement.

I will bring them with me when I meet Rachel on Monday, and her team of experts will take it from there.

Myself and Glenn went for lunch after our big discovery, a little Italian resturant, the food was lovely, and the two of us chatted and laughed and the sun was dancing off the windows as we watched the world go by outside, I'd like to think the ancestors were smiling down on us too.

Another surprise!Laura has lined up a session of Face Reading for us with a man called Joseph McGuire from Joyful Healing, I've never heard of this before, but it sounds like something I'd like as I am a very spiritual person and would be open to different experiences and ways of feeding my curiousity.

TV3 beckons on Good Friday and then we are meeting in the Dylan Hotel to have our reading after that, and I'm really looking forward to learning new things and opening my mind to other posibilities.

I was going to my Mothers after Curves the other day. My mother has a view up the whole street and as I was walking towards the house, she kept looking and didn't know it was me until I had got nearer, she said that I just looked so different!

I was walking different and had an air about me and that just sums it all up, my skin is glowing, the weight is coming off, I wake up about 20mins earlier now and have some quiet time where I'm learning to meditate (I dont think theres a wrong way to do it) I'm finding time for me now and doing things that make my heart sing and it can only get better and better.

Until next time

Enjoy your week

Louise xx

Sadie Grace - 50s

Hi everybody,

I had a very exciting week.  In order for me to tell you about my week I would have to tell you about my work so I will try to do this as briefly as I can.

I am a founder member of the Family Support Network.(FSN).  The FSN work with families who are coping with drug abuse in their home.  This Network was has been in existence for the past nine years and has done Trojan work for families all over the Island of Ireland.  In late 1997 the FSN became an autonomous organisation with its own funding.  It has taken us until this year to get our new premises and team of four workers.

Last week we were very honoured and proud to launch the FSN in the Mansion House. It has taken a lot of hard work and commitment from a lot of people to get to this stage.  It is also a huge achievement for Families in Ireland because this organisation will be run by families for families. At last we have a building to be proud of and we have a website www.fsn.ie which I would like you to go on and find out more about our fantastic organisation. I know I am not doing the FSN justice by trying to describe it this way, so please visit the website.  If any of you know anyone who is struggling with the issues of drug abuse please pass on our number which is 018365168.  I know there is a lot there but please call us if you would like to know more.

With Curves I am managing my time better and I am getting into a routine All my friends and families are saying there is a big improvement in my figure.  I wouldn't be able to it without the girls in Curves, they are just so kind and helpful and they keep encouraging me. Thank you All in Curves Artane!!

I am still using the SlenderTone belt. I have started to use the belt for my upper arms, I can see a little progress and I have only used it twice.

I did my 6h driving lesson on Saturday.

We did hill starts, roundabouts and right turns. it was great!

Unfortunately Donald is up to his eyes this week so I don't know if he can fit me in for any lessons, but fingers crossed.

To day I feel like I went to heaven. I got a call from Elizabeth Whelan from Clarins to ask me if I would like to go to the Clarins house in Dunlaoghaire for a massage and facial. I jumped at the chance because I have never had a facial in my life.  I felt that I got an insight into how the other half live!

I did not want to get off the table, it was the best hour and a half of my life. (Thank you so much Elizabeth, you are an angel!) I was in this beautiful room which was so peaceful with low lights and beautiful music, it was divine, and Elizabeth worked her magic!

She gave me a Pro-Rejuvenating Facial, using specific professional products which are used in the Clarins Spa only. I then had an Aromatherapy Massage, a facial with essential oils and a massage of my face, neck, decollete, hand and arm.  I would have gladly stayed there forever, it was brilliant and I would like to say thank you to Clarins and especially Elizabeth for the way they are treating me and for all their beautiful products and gifts.

I feel they are going above and beyond the call of duty, and  I feel so privileged to have them as my skincare sponsor.

I would like to say to all women, especially all you mothers out there, if you are anything like me and tend to forget about yourself, you should definitely treat yourself to the treatment I had today, it was such a treat and you sooo deserve it.

See you next week,

Sadie x

Margaret Muldoon - 60s

Hello everyone,

This was a quiet week in the Makeover Calendar so I spent some time trying to understand the spiritual aspect of the makeover. The other ladies have totally embraced the various therapies while I have been accused, correctly I might add, of being sceptical.

However, I am happy to report that a little research has helped me to understand things a bit better.

Apparently spiritual therapies are all inter-linked and involve a lifestyle approach which ultimately leads to better living & a better life.

The Artist's Way promises that meditation gives us power for expansive change. Expansive change at my age? Now wouldn't that be something!!

Having established that my Logic brain is overdeveloped while my Artistic brain is woefully underdeveloped, it's not so strange that I am having trouble understanding the concepts. I must now train the former to take a back seat so the latter can grow and evolve.

Heretofore my definition of an Artist was someone who produced a musical or literary masterpiece but we are all artists in our own way. For me it's solitary country walks, climbing mountains, hearing the birds, finding bluebells in the wood, creating an informal garden, enjoying quiet times.  I may never produce a masterpiece but if I concentrate on what makes gives me joy then I'll have found my El Dorado.

This week I joined the ranks of "Ladies Who Lunch". I met up with lots of friends just to show off my lovely new teeth. The new crowns are slightly more prominent than my own teeth and as an extra bonus my upper lip is less wrinkled.

The compliments are flying!

The magic underwear is a bit restrictive in this warm weather but proved cosy while rescuing my garden from the ravages of winter.

I still wear the Slendertone Abs belt and arm pads regularly and I genuinely feel that they are enhancing my shape.

I am returning to Curves tomorrow now that cold sores have finally disappeared.  Guess I'll be aching tomorrow night.

The skin care regime has become second nature to me. The Decleor products are beautiful and we are getting additional supplies soon.

My skin is in better condition but the wrinkles seem determined to stay! Perhaps it will take more than 2 months to rectify decades of neglect.

Regards and God Bless till next week.

Margaret Muldoon
